Arizona Has a New 2026 Primary Election Date

February 6, 2026 - Today, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs signed a bipartisan bill passed by the Arizona Legislature changing the date of the 2026 Primary Election. The legislation permanently moves Arizona primary elections to the second-to-last Tuesday in July. Previously, the Primary Election was held on the first Tuesday in August.

The 2026 Primary Election will take place on July 21, 2026. This change allows election officials additional time to prepare for the General Election.
