Community Health Needs Assessments and Improvement Plans Now Available
The Mohave County Department of Public Health and Kingman Regional Medical Center have published two new reports aimed at enhancing health in our communities. The 2025 Mohave County Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and the 2025–2028 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) can be accessed on the websites of both organizations.
These reports are part of a local health initiative known as Live Well Mohave, which was launched in 2012. Every three years, this initiative starts with MCDPH and KRMC conducting a community survey, engaging in individual interviews, and organizing focus groups.
Community input is the most crucial aspect of this initiative and serves as the driving force behind the actionable steps identified during workgroups. Hundreds of residents participated in this process, which assists both agencies in understanding the most significant health challenges faced by individuals residing in Mohave County.
The CHNA assesses the health status of each city within Mohave County and pinpoints issues that require the most attention. The CHIP utilizes this information to develop a plan in collaboration with community members, working together to implement improvements in the community over the next few years.
“This initiative focuses on listening to our community and collaborating to address health issues,” stated Melissa Palmer, Director of Mohave County Public Health. “Our goal is to optimize our resources to enhance the quality of life for everyone residing here.”
