Davis Dam 75th Anniversary Logo Unveiled, Celebrating Powering Progress while Sustaining Growth
Mohave County is proud to unveil the official 75th Anniversary Logo for Davis Dam, honoring one of the region’s most significant landmarks and its 75 years of powering progress, partnership, and pride along the Colorado River at the October 6, 2025, Board of Supervisors meeting.
The new logo—unveiled as part of the upcoming anniversary celebration—represents both the enduring history and bright future of Davis Dam, symbolizing the dam’s vital role in water management, renewable energy, and community identity for Mohave County and the Southwest.
The commemorative logo was designed by Sheila Barger, a renowned advertising, graphic design, and marketing professional who has made Bullhead City her creative home. Originally from New Orleans, Barger’s career includes work with Better Homes & Gardens Magazine, Peter A. Mayer Advertising, and multiple Fortune 500 companies. Her projects—such as the “Ladies in Red” Riverfront Streetcar Line in New Orleans and the Mud Island Museum in Memphis—have earned recognition for blending art, heritage, and storytelling.
Since moving to Bullhead City in 2014 with her husband, Peter Ryn, Sheila has continued to inspire through her pottery, sculpture, and involvement in the River Valley Artist Guild, where she designs marketing materials and supports local art events. Her design for the Davis Dam 75th Anniversary logo captures the essence of unity between people, place, and progress—a symbol of how community and innovation flow together.
“The unveiling of this logo is more than a design moment—it’s a celebration of our shared history and pride,” said Supervisor Rich Lettman, District 2, Mohave County Board of Supervisors.
“Davis Dam has stood as a symbol of progress, resilience, and connection for 75 years. Sheila Barger’s beautiful artwork reflects that legacy perfectly—it honors the generations who built and maintained the dam and reminds us that this river continues to shape our lives and our future.”
The Davis Dam 75th Anniversary celebration highlights the importance of public lands, renewable energy, and collaboration among local, state, and federal partners. Mohave County extends its gratitude to the Bureau of Reclamation, community artists, and residents who continue to honor and preserve this remarkable chapter of Arizona’s history.
