Mohave County Declaration of Flood Emergency
A series of strong rainstorms and resultant flooding between September 26 - 28, 2025 caused extensive damage and loss of County road and flood control infrastructure. Various damage to private properties were reported in several areas of the unincorporated area of Mohave County, including Fort Mohave, Oatman, and Meadview.
On September 27, 2025, Governor Katie Hobbs declared a State of Emergency for Gila County following catastrophic flooding caused by severe monsoon storms. Public Works staff meetings with Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs ( DEMA) on September 29, 2025 finds DEMA considers Mohave County impacted by the same storm as Gila County. The Governor' s Emergency Declaration and Mohave County nexus to the same storm system could potentially enable County assistance from the State as a result of County Flood Emergency Declaration.
Mohave County Emergency Management anticipates the expenses incurred by Public Works and Flood Control in stabilizing and reconstructing infrastructure impacted by this disaster will meet the minimum $ 215, 000 cumulative threshold for State assistance should the State declare an emergency for Mohave County as requested by the County through its Declaration of Flood Emergency.
The Board of Supervisors ratified the Declaration of Flood Emergency on October 6, 2025.
