Mohave County Elections Department Provides Information on Unofficial Election Results

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ — The Mohave County Elections Department is providing an update on when unofficial election results will be released for the 2026 General Election.

Polls for the General Election will close at 7:00 PM on November 3, 2026. Per Arizona law, unofficial election results may be released one hour after the polls close (8:00 PM) on Election Night.

The first set of unofficial results released on Election Night will include early ballots that were received by the Voter Registration Department during the Early Voting period. Additional results will be released throughout the night as poll site ballots are delivered to the Elections Department for tabulation.

“Election results are carefully reviewed and updated as ballots are tabulated,” said Elections Director Karina Sumner.

“The results posted on Election Night are unofficial and will change as we receive eligible ballots back from the

Recorder’s office.”

All Election Day ballots are tabulated, and results are released on Election Night. Ballots still needing to be processed and counted include:

•       Ballots received by the Recorder’s office after the Early Voting period but before 7:00 PM on Election Night

•       Early ballots dropped off at the poll site on Election Day

•       Provisional ballots voted at the poll site on Election Day

The Recorder’s office begins processing those on Wednesday after the election. The Elections Department starts receiving those ballots back from the Recorder’s office to tabulate on Thursday after the election and will update results daily to reflect these votes.

Arizona law allows voters to cure signatures or show appropriate ID until 5:00 PM on Sunday after the election. Therefore, the Elections Department may be receiving eligible ballots from the Recorder’s office on Monday following the election. After they are tabulated, the unofficial results will be updated to reflect these votes.

Ballots with write-in names will be manually reviewed by election officials to determine if the voter voted for a qualified write-in candidate. This process starts after Election Day, and all write-in votes will be reviewed and counted before the canvassing of the election.

Voters are reminded that the election process continues beyond Election Night.

After all eligible ballots are tabulated and write-in review is finished, results will be certified by the Board of Supervisors and Secretary of State’s office, constituting the official canvass. Those certified results are the official election results.
