Mohave County Elections Department Provides Update on the Public Viewing Area on Election Night
MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ — The Mohave County Administration building will be open on Election Night to the public and press.
Beginning in the 2026 General Election on November 3rd, the Mohave County Administration Building will be open to the public and press on Election Night. Visitors will be limited to the second-floor Mezzanine area with access to the restrooms and vending machines. The live stream of the tabulation room will be broadcast on a TV in the designated viewing area. Individuals are encouraged to bring a personal electronic device to view results on the county website.
All members of the public and press will be given visitors passes that must be visible while inside the building and returned when leaving. They will be asked to sign in and sign out when entering and exiting the building. The designated area for viewing will be open at 6:30 PM. The polls close at 7:00 PM on Election Day and staff will stay until all Election
Day ballots are tabulated. This process may go into the early hours of Wednesday, November 4th. An Elections Department staff member will inform the visitors when they are finished with tabulation and leaving. Tabulation will proceed regardless of whether visitors arrive late or leave early.
Visitors shall not interfere with the election process including receiving and tabulation of ballots, attempt to enter restricted and secure areas, interfere with employees or other visitors, engage in conduct that creates safety hazards, or disrupt county operations. If an individual fails to comply with instructions from county staff, security personnel, or law enforcement, they may be asked to leave.
“The public is encouraged to observe the processing and tabulation of ballots,” said Elections Director Karina Sumner. “Because of the security and integrity of the election process, we will have visitors watching the process on Election Night from the designated viewing area.”
Members of the media are welcome to observe the election process from the designated viewing area. Election
Department personnel will be focused on tabulating ballots and posting election results. Staff should not be approached for interviews or distracted from their assigned responsibilities. Any requests for interviews or information regarding Election Night shall be directed to the Elections Director or their designee prior to Election Day.
Political party observers appointed by the political party chairpersons will be able to view the process from the Elections Department. One observer from each party is allowed to observe in the office at a time.
The live stream of the tabulation room will be on the Mohave County Elections Department website. The live stream begins before the first ballot is tabulated and ends after the last ballot has been tabulated.
