Mohave County Supervisors to Meet with Arizona Legislative Leaders on Airport Authority Concerns
Mohave County Supervisors Sonny Borrelli and Rich Lettman will meet with Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen and Speaker of the House Steven Montenegro on August 15, 2025, in Phoenix to address serious concerns regarding the Mohave County Airport Authority (MCAA).
The meeting will focus on reviewing a resolution of displeasure passed by the Board of Supervisors on July 21, 2025. Included in the resolution is a:
- Lack of response to Mohave County’s formal request for audited financial statements from the MCAA.
- A renewed request for the appointment of one additional voting member to the Airport Authority from Mohave County.
- The failure of the MCAA to present timely and relevant information at meetings of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors.
Additionally, the Supervisors will present allegations of potential Open Meeting Law violations and financial irregularities under the current management of the MCAA, which have raised serious concerns regarding governance and public trust.
“This meeting represents an important step toward transparency and accountability in a matter that directly impacts our taxpayers and the future of aviation and economic development in Mohave County,” said Supervisor Borrelli.“I will also be consulting with President Petersen and Speaker Montenegro to request the intervention of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee and the services of the Arizona Auditor General.”
Supervisor Lettman added, “The stonewalling and delay tactics coming from Airport leadership
need to stop. We owe it to our residents to pursue answers and ensure that agencies operate within
the law and with full transparency.”
