Mohave County Voter Registration Update: Letter to Be Mailed to Affected Voters Following MVD Citizenship Documentation Error
Mohave County Recorder’s office announced today that a second notice will be mailed to a group of voters whose registration records were impacted by a recent error originating from the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). Due to an oversight, the MVD did not properly capture or transmit documented proof of U.S. citizenship, as required by state law.
As a result, affected individuals received a notice in March of this year, and will receive this second notification to provide documentary proof of citizenship to our office.
Beginning next week, impacted voters will receive an official letter from the Mohave County Voter Registration office explaining the issue and outlining the steps required to resolve it. The letter will include:
· A description of the error and its impact
· Instructions for submitting proof of citizenship
· A list of acceptable documents (e.g., government issued birth certificate, passport, naturalization certificate)
“We acknowledge the confusion and frustration this error has caused our voters. Our team is working diligently to acquire the necessary information from voters and provide clear guidance to those affected,” said Lydia Henry, Mohave County Recorder.
Voters with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Mohave County Voter Registration Division at (928)753-0767 or email voterregistration@mohave.gov.
