Instructions for Oversize/Overweight Permit Applications

INSTRUCTIONS FOR OVERSIZE/OVERWEIGHT PERMIT APPLICATIONS

1. Mohave County oversize/overweight (OS/OW) permits are required for all vehicles/loads operated on Mohave County roads with any one or more of the following:

Gross wight over 80,000 pounds
Single-axle load over 20,000 pounds
Tandem-axle load over 34,000 pounds
Width at the widest point of the vehicle or load more than 8 feet
Height at the highest point of the vehicle or load more than 13.5 feet
Total length of the vehicle or vehicle plus load more than 92 feet

ALLOW TWO (2) WORKING DAYS FOR PROCESSING

2. Submit applications online at www.mohave .gov – Public Works – Permits - OS/OW Permit Application.

3. Mohave County Public Works charges fees (Effective 7/1/2024) consistent with ARS §28-1105 as follows:

Oversize: Single-trip permit $15, *30-day permit $30, *Annual permit $360.00 (ARS §28-1105 subsection 1)
Oversize/Overweight: Single-trip permit $75, *30-day permit $75, *Annual permit $360 Up to 123,500 lbs. (ARS §28-1105 subsection 4 a and b)
*Annual permit $600 - In excess size and weight of 123,500 lbs. up to 129,000 lbs. (ARS §28-1105 subsection 4 c)
*30-day and Annual Permits are subject to the same route, same load, and same equipment.
Upon permit approval and issuance of a permit number, Mohave County will contact the applicant to make a payment based on the designated permit type.

Ø Permit fees set forth above are due and payable at the time Mohave County Public Works assigns an OSOW permit number.

4. Single-trip permits are valid for one week from the date the permit is issued.

5. Permits must be carried in the vehicle and presented to Law Enforcement Officers upon request.

6. Mohave County OS/OW Permits will only be issued to vehicles for trips originating or ending in Mohave County. Interstate travel of vehicles is not allowed on County Roadways.
