IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT REQUESTING A TAX LIEN ASSIGNMENT
- 1. Requests are for a lien against the property for the amount of delinquent property taxes plus interest and applicable fees. An assignment is not the sale of Real Property.
- All documentation and full payment is required to process an assignment request.
- Assignments require the purchaser to redeem any and all previous tax liens, delinquent taxes and applicable fees/penalties.
- Assignment Requests may be denied or canceled for the following reasons (including, but not limited to):
- A bankruptcy exists;
- Judicial Foreclosure actions commence;
- Other judicial action occurs that prevents issuance of the lien or requires cancellation of a lien;
- The owner redeems existing liens against the parcel;
- Individual lienholder pays subsequent taxes before the assignment request is received or processing is completed.
- Assignments are issued on a first come, first served basis. Each Assignment Request is date and/or time stamped when received in our office.
- Payment for Assignment Requests must accompany the request.
- Payment must be accurate and all documentation included or the request will be returned.
- Payment must be made in U.S. funds, drawn on a U.S. bank. Payment may be made with a cashier’s check, money order, international money order made payable to the Mohave County Treasurer. If in person, cash is acceptable. (DO NOT SEND CASH THROUGH THE MAIL OR WIRE FUNDS.)
