Grading Requirements
GRADING PERMIT REQUIREMENTS
- Building Permit Application
- 8 ½" x 11" plot plan (residential)/site plan (commercial) of the entire property showing: (if there is a current or proposed septic system on the property, please request the plot plan/ site plan from Development Services for property records consistency at kgmpermitstaff@mohave.gov)
- a. Lot dimensions
- b. Utility and drainage easements (if applicable)
- c. North arrow
- d. All existing structures (including the septic tank, leach lines and reserve area) on the property with dimensions
- e. Topography showing what is being cut and/or filled with this permit
- Proof of ownership (warranty deed or land contract) if the Assessor's office shows a different owner.
- PFI (Property Floodplain Information) - please email MCFloodinfo@mohave.gov to obtain a PFI for your property. Once you receive the PFI, print and submit it with your application and Documents
- a. If the property is within a floodplain, there may be a $50.00 flood fee. You may also need an elevation certificate done by an engineer and/or your building plans may need to reflect requirements set by the flood department such as geo report, drainage, penetrations, culverts, etc. prior to any submittals.
- $75 Deposit
- a. Checks can be made payable to Mohave County Development Services
- b. If you'd like to make a payment over the phone there will be a 2.39% processing fee using a card (min. $1.50) or a flat $2.00 processing fee using a checking account with the routing number, checking account number and the account holder’s birthdate.
- Two (2) FULL sets of construction drawings showing the area to be graded.
- a. If any part of your plans is engineered: 5,000 CY or greater, engineered plans will be required by an Arizona engineer
- b. Plans shall be required to be designed to the 2018 IBC/IRC
- c. Three (3) sets of plans are required if the property is located within the Northern Mohave County area
