Wind Speed
115 MPH ultimate wind speed (VULT)

Seismic Zone
Zone C

Exposure
Exposure C — open terrain with scattered obstructions, including surface undulation or other irregularities, with heights generally less than 30 feet extending more than 1,500 feet from the building site in any quadrant.
This exposure also applies to buildings within Exposure B terrain that are directly adjacent to open areas of Exposure C terrain in any quadrant for a distance of more than 600 feet.
This category includes flat open country, grasslands, and shorelines in hurricane-prone regions.

Live Load (depends on roof pitch)

  • Flat to less than 4:12 = 20 psf
  • 4:12 to less than 12:12 = 16 psf
  • 12:12 and greater = 12 psf

Ground Snow Load (depends on elevation)

  • 0 psf up to 3,000 ft
  • 5 psf from 3,000 ft to 4,500 ft
  • 10 psf from 4,500 ft to 5,400 ft

Applicable Codes

  • 2018 International Residential Code
  • 2018 International Building Code
  • 2018 International Mechanical Code
  • 2018 International Plumbing Code

Plans Needed

  • 2 sets of wet-stamped plans
  • 2 sets of wet-stamped engineering calculations (including lateral seismic and wind loads)
  • Engineer or Architect must be registered in Arizona
