PERMIT CHECK LIST
In order to obtain the requested Building Permit for your project within the fastest turn-around timeframes possible, the following submittal information is required for an administratively complete submittal when you submit your Permit Application to the County. A deferred submittal of any of the applicable items listed below may be approved by staff to allow for the initial processing to begin; however your application will not be considered administratively complete until it’s provided.
Permit Application Prerequisites:
Tax Parcel Number / Property Address
Parcel Grading Permit (when applicable)
Approved Zoning / Zoning Use Permit
Obtain Property Floodplain Information (PFI)
Well Permit / Approved Water Source
Septic Approval / Sewer Acceptance Letter

Completed Permit Application w/ Permit Fees
(2) Sets of engineered Truss Design Calculations
One Approved Plot Plan per Standard Instructions
Engineered Structural Calculations (as applicable)
Two Complete Sets of Project Construction Plans
Plumbing Fixture Count Calculation Sheet
When the applicant is different than the owner of record on file at the County Assessor’s, proof of ownership or a notarized letter from the owner authorizing the application Construction Plan Set Contents (see House Plan Submittal Requirements document):

Construction Plans must be drawn to a standard architectural scale (not less than 1/8”=1’) on a minimum size 18" x 24" paper for One & Two Family Residential Dwelling projects. Plans shall be to scale. Other residential projects such as remodels, smaller detached structures, porches and carports can be submitted on 8 1/2” x 11” paper. All Construction Plans must be of sufficient clarity to indicate location, scope and extent of the proposed work being permitted.
All submittals shall be site specific and designed to the provisions of the Mohave County adopted 2018 International Residential Building Code with amendments. Any Residential project designed to be constructed in a non-conventional manner or beyond the prescriptive scope of the adopted 201 International Residential Building Code shall have construction plans prepared by a Registrant (Architect or Engineer) licensed in the State of Arizona.
