Just Drive

As of March 2019, Mohave County, Arizona maintains a network of new motorist information signs at select
county highway gateways toward raising driver awareness toward their standing responsibility to the driving task. In serving substantial tourist and recreational traffic, this Mohave County original campaign and traffic control sign, billed Just Drive, ties not only to distracted driving but underscores atypical road conditions such as open range grazing and frequent curves and grades that drivers will encounter on county thoroughfares. Just Drive precipitates from Mohave County Public Works study and discovery of disproportionate, post-recession rise in crash frequency versus vehicle miles traveled in select regions. This campaign recognizes that driver-types common to certain county highways serving tourist/recreation destinations proves different from local/commuter drivers, as driver psyches may lend priority on the recreation of traveling and reaching destinations with the least delay. These phenomena may erode focus and awareness and weigh on exposure to lane departure and vehicle conflict risk.
