For more than 3 decades, Mohave Valley has been my home, my community, and the place where I have raised my family. As a 36-year resident, I have seen our schools grow, adapt, and overcome challenges, and I have always believed that strong schools are the heart of a strong community. My commitment to service has guided me throughout my life, and it is the foundation of my desire to serve on the Colorado River Union High School District Governing Board. I earned a college degree and completed several courses in secondary and special education, which deepened my understanding of how students learn and how educators support them. Over the years, I have been involved on many aspects of our local schools. I have been employed as a bus driver, substitute teacher, and an assistant speech and debate coach within CRUHSD, to name a few. These roles gave me firsthand insight into our district's daily operations, our staff's dedication, and our student's needs. Community involvement and local charity have always been central to who I am. I volunteered for 3 years as a cub scout leader and 15 years as a girl scout leader, helping young people build confidence, character, and leadership skills. I have served on numerous committees for schools and community organizations; working alongside parents, educators, community leaders and other volunteers to support programs and charitable events that benefit local families in our area. These experiences taught me the value of collaboration, communication and listening to diverse perspectives with empathy. My connection to CRUHSD is also deeply personal. All 3 of my Children graduated from RVHS, and now my grandchildren will soon be attending school in the district. I understand families' hopes for their children and the importance of ensuring every student has access to a safe and secure learning environment, diverse learning resources, balanced quality education and extracurricular activities, and innovative technology within the district. I believe in transparency, accountability and responsible stewardship of district resources. I believe in supporting teachers and staff, strengthening academic and administrative pathways, and ensuring that every Teacher knows they will have the tools and policies to give students the opportunities to succeed. Most of all, I believe in working together as a community to build the best possible schools to meet our children's future. My decades long involvement in Mohave Valley and the surrounding area, my direct experiences within CRUHSD, and my commitment to service have prepared me to contribute meaningfully as a Governing School Board Member. I am dedicated to listening, learning and helping our district continue to grow in ways that reflect the needs and values of the families it serves.
