Kory Burgess

As a candidate for the CRUHSD #2 Board of Education, I am focused on student success, strong schools, and practical leadership. With a background in education and a lifelong connection to this community, I understand the important role our schools play in shaping the future of our students, families, and county.

I have dedicated my life to improving educational opportunities for the youth of our community. I believe every student deserves access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment where they are challenged to grow, encouraged to succeed, and prepared for college, careers, and responsible citizenship.

If elected, I will work to support our teachers and school staff, strengthen academic outcomes, promote meaningful family and community engagement, and ensure that district decisions remain focused on the needs of students. I believe effective school board leadership requires listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, using resources responsibly, and making decisions based on what best serves children.

Our educators deserve the support, resources, and respect necessary to do their work effectively. Our families deserve clear communication and confidence that their concerns are heard. Most importantly, our students deserve advocates who will maintain high expectations while recognizing and addressing the individual needs of every learner.

As a lifelong resident of the community, I care deeply about the success and future of our county. I will bring a collaborative, student-centered, and solutions-oriented approach to the CRUHSD Board of Education. I am committed to working with fellow board members, district leaders, employees, families, and community partners to build upon our strengths and address our challenges with honesty and purpose.
